Glass Half Full
Two things.
1. My outlook on glassware: I like to mix my vessels. When we entertain it's often for a very big group (we have an unusually large family, and any given gathering could be 35+ people), so I need A LOT of glasses. Vintage finds are a win/win in terms of variety, character and sustainability. I love the hunt... but you might not! I'm giving plenty of vintage inspired options if you don’t want to troll your local Salvation Army or mercantile. You can slowly collect and and curate your glassware menagerie for a mix of artfully made, new and used, pieces.
2. My outlook on all the rest: I have a simple glass half full strategy that I (not always successfully) use. It's not my own, a friend taught it to me, and it goes like this... for every action you judge critically, pivot and tell yourself two positive things about the situation. FE -- Fuuuuuu*k! Well done, I shattered my glass -- it's hand blown, one of a kind and irreplaceable! Pause. Breath... no stitches required, and I dropped it because my husband made me laugh so hard I literally lost control of my body.
